Munich’s Ludwig-Maximilians University and TUM Technical University are joined by the University of Heidelberg, Berlin’s Humboldt University and the University of Bonn in being Germany’s top-rankers in the 2019 edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The Times employed number of citations, teacher-student ratios, six criteria in compiling their widely-respected rankings.
Overall, Germany placed 23 universities in the rankings’ top 200 – third-best total among the world’s nations.
